The Weekly roundup
It’s been quite a week, and the weather here in the UK has finally got sunny so I’ll keep this brief.
The founders round Procurement Soft Skills Mastery is now in full flow and we had a brilliant first workshop covering the foundation - the cornerstone. We covered the core soft skills, Emotional Intelligence, how to build self awareness and the importance of the feedback loop.
We’ve got a great group and community going here too!
If you want in on the waitlist for when the next cohort starts in August, just drop me a reply with subject title ‘waitlist’ and you’ll be the first to hear details of the next enrolment (spaces will be limited).
I’ve also been reading and listening to loads of stuff this week and here are the three best Bit(e)s…
Gen AI set to dominate Procurement Contract Management (1 min read, clickable link)
But by 2027 I’m sure they’re right. That gives us less than three years folks.
Two stand out things we should all be doing.
“First, companies should move beyond a digital repository of contracts to a contract lifecycle management (CLM) solution that supports authoring and negotiation of contracts.
Companies should also start quantifying risk in contract clauses by using current contract templates to understand the main terms negotiated in various contract types.”
Send the article to your CFO if they need any more convincing.
This LinkedIn post tickled me and is a harsh truth read it here
from my friend James Meads who will be soon delivering newsletters himself.
Why did it tickle me?
Because the article is about ME and the mistakes I made in my choice of tech stack at the start of my content creator journey (hint…this newsletter is about to migrate to Beehiiv…don’t worry you won’t have to do a thing, it will all be managed on my end).
But oh…the irony…here I am the Procurement Protagonist and I can’t even get my own Procurement requirements right!
Scale Your business from $10k to $100k per month - Matt Gray (link to spotify podcast well worth a listen)
My daughter unleased a monster in me four years ago when she introduced me to Ali Abdaal on Youtube. He’s awesome.
But within this one in particular there are some brilliant tips from Matt Gray, particularly when it comes to leading a team, managing meetings effectively and the focus on Awareness, Issues and Opportunities as a way to mange the team meetings and weekly updates. Simple stuff rarely executed well though.
That’s it for me for now.
Have a great weekend, and if you can…Parkrun (it’s a community mental health event disguised as a run).
