The Best Bites (and a romantic moment in time)
The Friday Roundup
Okay…this one is late.
I was out all morning visiting potential Properties to lease for our business, all in Salford Quays.
A powerful, heart thumping moment happened.
Something I hadn’t anticipated.
As I scoured one empty office in Exchange Quay, time stopped.
It was the very office where I first met and asked my now wife out on a date. “Scream 3” at the cinema! (I’d found out she loved movies, done my research).
We were both working at Sylvan Prometric at the time, a company contracted as the call centre to book driver theory tests on behalf of the DVLA (Driving Vehicles License Association).
She was my supervisor and I’d found out she was leaving to become an air hostess so in good Procurement fashion I had to act decisively and fast.
I hadn’t been back to that place in 24 years.
Time stopped, my heart skipped a beat. I reminisced on all the sliding doors moments that let up to that point.
Everything I am today and all the good things I have are down to her so yes I’m including this moment in the best Bites of the week.
A couple of other highlights though.
Please check out Maria Villablanca’s incredible post here where you get free access to one of the best guides on transformation I’ve read. It’s supremely punchy and helpful.
I’ve also had a brilliant time this week chatting with Alex Farr and we recorded this pod together where I reflected on all the things the best suppliers do with Procurement teams.
I’d say only the elite 5% get this right.
Finally, if you’re still on the fence about subscribing to my VIP paid version of this newsletter, please don’t miss out on my free LinkedIn course offer here.
I’ll be withdrawing this offer on 30th April this year but by signing up to my annual subscription with a one time £40 investment, you get this course completely free. A free code will be sent to you the moment you subscribe (that’s £100 of additional value).
I just received two more incredible 5 star testimonials for this course this week:
"This has to be the best course I have taken on navigating LinkedIn. I have paid for others in the past, but this one is unmatched. It's a small investment that is worth every second and it has helped me reflect on things I should stop doing!"
"Such great insight, you’ve helped me see the bigger picture & how LinkedIn rewards those who show up regularly & consistently. You've confirmed things I think I already knew, like only posting content on your “niche” rather than wider subjects, but your advice has cemented this in my mind. Thank you for sharing your experience (good and bad) and let’s hope it means skipping a few mistakes along the way."
Are you sure you want to miss out on this?
What are the best bites you’ve seen this week?
Have a fabulous weekend.
